Former President Amine Gemayel met with French Ambassador to Lebanon Hervé Magro in Bikfaya, with discussions focusing on both domestic and regional developments.

The meeting highlighted France’s role in the Mechanism Committee, which functions as a safeguard for Lebanon’s current political and security framework.

Gemayel was briefed on Paris’s plans to rally international support for the Lebanese Army through an upcoming conference in France.

He stressed the conference’s vital importance in enabling the army to implement the government’s decision to maintain sole authority over weapons throughout the country.
