Gemayel after Meeting with Forces of Change Delegation: We Are Committed to the State of Law, Lebanese Identity

Kataeb Deputies Samy Gemayel, Nadim Gemayel, Selim Sayegh and Elias Hankach met with a delegation from “Forces of Change” deputies at the party’s headquarters in Saifi with talks featuring on the upcoming presidential elections.

The delegation included Najat Saliba, Melhem Khalaf, Halima Kaakour, Marc Daou and Rami Fanj.

"We share common concerns to prevent presidential vacuum and restore this State; state of law. Accordingly, we proposed the presidential initiative to re-establish powers starting with the presidential entitlement," Deputy Melhem Khalaf said following the meeting.

"We all agree on the essential issues and we have to adhere to the state of law. Our initiative aims to elect a comprehensive and rescue president within the legal and constitutional deadlines,” he noted, affirming that the atmosphere is positive.

For his part, Kataeb leader Samy Gemayel welcomed the delegation’s visit to the party’s headquarters in Saifi.

“The presidential elections require us to meet several times and not just once, because we are few days away from this entitlement,” he pointed out.

“We are committed to the state of law, its elements and its Lebanese identity in a bid to end the old approach that brought our country to this deteriorated situation,” he added.

Gemayel voiced his optimism over the meeting held between Kataeb and Forces of Change Deputies.

“All of us aspire to achieve the same dream and we must remain in constant coordination,” he affirmed.

The Kataeb leader stressed the importance of coordination and confrontation, saying that meetings will remain open with forces of change bloc and all blocs that have the same concern.

Gemayel also promised the Lebanese that his party would exert its utmost efforts to benefit from the upcoming entitlement in a bid to rebuild the country and regenerate the confidence of the Lebanese.
