European Messages of Support for Lebanon's New Presidency

"Nidaa Al Watan" newspaper has learned that the Cypriot President’s visit to Lebanon carried a significant message of Cypriot and European backing for the new presidency.

Discussions with President Michel Aoun focused on critical issues, notably support for the Lebanese Armed Forces, strengthening Lebanon’s stability, and fostering closer ties with European nations.

The Cypriot President pledged European support for Lebanon’s new era and extended an invitation to President Aoun to participate in the European conference set to take place in March with representatives from 27 countries.

This conference will serve as an opportunity for President Aoun to present Lebanon’s comprehensive needs for assistance across various domains.

The second European signal of support came from the Italian Foreign Minister, who discussed the ceasefire agreement and the status of UNIFIL forces in southern Lebanon. The Minister pledged to advocate within the European framework to secure aid for the Lebanese Armed Forces and broader assistance for Lebanon.

Meanwhile, security sources informed "Nidaa Al Watan" that the Lebanese Armed Forces continue their deployment south of the Litani River, seizing weapons and ammunition, taking control of military positions, asserting state authority, and enforcing international resolutions.
