British Ambassador to Lebanon Hamish Cowell voiced his delight after Lebanon and Israel reached an agreement to resolve their yearslong maritime border dispute.

"Delighted to see agreement reached on maritime boundary between Lebanon and Israel," Cowell tweeted.

"Congratulations to US and Amos Hochstein for mediation efforts and to all involved," he added.

"Very good news for Lebanon and for stability and prosperity in the region," he concluded.
