A source disclosed that a high-ranking officer within the Internal Security Forces, holding the position of brigadier general and occupying a significant role, is under detention due to strong suspicions of involvement in a drug trafficking network.
The officer is accused of shielding the activities of network members and facilitating their extensive operations across various regions in Lebanon.
According to the source, the army has recently utilized drones to monitor its raids, aiming to track the movements of gangs and their hiding places. The source further confirmed that whenever raids were conducted on a gang consisting of three brothers, they would seek refuge in the residence of the brigadier general to evade capture.
