The General Directorate of State Security in Lebanon announced the arrest of several individuals involved in a drug smuggling and trafficking network in the Bekaa Valley.
The suspects, including Syrians, were apprehended following thorough monitoring by the State Security Office.
During the operation, law enforcement officials seized approximately 32,700 Captagon pills, two explosive devices, and military weapons.
The investigation revealed that the drugs were smuggled from the Syrian town of Madaya into Lebanon, passing through Al-Kfeir, with the assistance of a Syrian drug dealer.
The pills were then handed over to the detainees, who concealed them inside the Nour Al-Shams swimming pool in Marj - Bar Elias.
The arrested Syrians were primarily involved in the sale of the drugs within the Bekaa region.
The operation was conducted by the State Security Office after extensive surveillance of drug trafficking networks in the area.
The arrested individuals are currently undergoing interrogation under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor of Bekaa.
