Wave of Israeli Airstrikes Targets Southern Beirut, Bekaa, and Southern Lebanon

The situation in Lebanon continues to escalate as Israeli forces intensify their bombardments across various regions, resulting in numerous casualties and significant destruction.

The southern suburbs of Beirut, parts of southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley have become the epicenter of this violence, with heavy airstrikes reported throughout the night and into Saturday.

Israeli aircraft launched multiple airstrikes targeting key locations, including three strikes near Saint Michael's Church along the Old Sidon Road.

In addition, Israeli airstrikes hit a vehicle on the Dahr al-Baydr road and a passenger van near the industrial city roundabout in Zahle.

Reports indicate that large areas of the southern suburbs of Beirut have been devastated, with entire buildings flattened under the relentless bombardment.

The Israeli military has focused its operations on Hezbollah strongholds, conducting airstrikes on villages west of Baalbek, including Hermel, Hazarta, Ali al-Nahri, and al-Karak, among others. Notably, the ancient Barbara Church, located near the Baalbek archaeological site and which dates back to the Byzantine era, was also targeted.

As a result of these operations, five people were reported killed and four injured in the airstrike on Shmestar, while the death toll in al-Khadr airstrike has risen to four. Emergency response efforts are ongoing, with teams working to clear the debris from the wreckage of destroyed buildings.

In addition to the airstrikes in the Bekaa Valley, reports emerged of Israeli bombardments in various southern towns, including Sarafand and Kfarhatta, where a residential building was struck. Members of the Islamic Health Authority also suffered casualties during a strike on their center in Taybeh.

The airstrikes have also reached other areas, impacting towns such as Kfarsir, Markaba, Deir Saryan, Kfarkela, Naqoura, Anqoun, and Majdel Zoun, among others.

The Israeli army has asserted that these actions are aimed at undermining Hezbollah's military capabilities, which pose a significant threat to Israeli security.
