U.S. Embassy Says ‘Mechanism’ Committee Remains Fully Operational
The U.S. Embassy in Beirut and the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) on Friday reaffirmed that the military coordination framework established under the November 27, 2024, Cessation of Hostilities agreement in Lebanon remains fully operational.
The framework, which brings together multiple parties under a shared leadership structure, continues to pursue the same goals set out at its inception, the embassy said in a statement posted on its X account.
The next formal meeting of the Mechanism is scheduled for February 25 in Naqoura. Additional sessions are planned for March 25, April 22, and May 20. These gatherings will remain the primary forum for military coordination among the participating parties.
