Trump’s Hardline Stance: No Aid to Lebanese Army Without Concrete Achievements

U.S. President Donald Trump has decided to suspend all U.S. aid to Lebanon, citing the need for the country to achieve certain milestones before any assistance is resumed. This decision was confirmed by a U.S. State Department official, who spoke to Al-Arabiya TV.

According to the official, the suspension of aid is part of a broader review process to ensure that U.S. assistance aligns with Washington’s policies.

"All U.S. aid to Lebanon has been suspended for revision and ensuring that it conforms to Washington’s policy," the official said.

Trump emphasized that the U.S. government will not distribute funds without securing a tangible return for the American people.

"Washington will not distribute funds if the American people don’t get anything in return," the official quoted the president as saying.

The suspension includes aid to the Lebanese army and other Lebanese institutions, with U.S. officials stressing that future assistance will not be based on promises alone.

"There will be no aid to the Lebanese Army and the rest of institutions based on promises," the official added.
