MP Salim Sayegh met with President Joseph Aoun on Wednesday, with talks focusing on the concerns and hardships facing citizens, including the waste crisis and challenges confronting farmers.
Speaking after the meeting at Baabda Palace, Sayegh said Aoun was aware of the concerns and grievances being raised by the public.
“We will meet with the president, as MPs from Keserwan, to discuss the waste crisis, as well as issues affecting farmers,” Sayegh said.
Sayegh said the meeting also provided an opportunity to commend Aoun for his position on the apple sector and exports, as well as his efforts to prevent monopolies and exploitation.
“We came to commend the president’s position on the apple sector and its exports, and his commitment to preventing monopolistic practices and exploitation,” Sayegh said.
Sayegh also praised the Lebanese state’s efforts to maintain security and reassure citizens, particularly those of the military and security agencies.
He commended “the efforts being made by the Lebanese state, particularly the military and security agencies, to maintain security, strengthen confidence and reassure citizens.”
