Syrian Security Forces Foil Major Arms Smuggling Attempt to Lebanon

The General Security Directorate in Tartus announced the successful thwarting of an arms and missile smuggling attempt destined for Lebanon. The operation, which was carried out in coordination with the region’s intelligence agency, uncovered a network attempting to transport weapons through illegal crossings between the two countries.

According to a statement issued by the General Security Directorate, the operation was the result of continuous monitoring and surveillance efforts. Authorities were able to intercept the smuggled weapons and missiles before they could enter Lebanese territory. The weapons, which were hidden for illicit transfer, were seized by security forces, preventing the operation from progressing.
