Israel Intensifies Strikes Across Southern Lebanon and Western Bekaa as Evacuation Orders Continue

Israeli airstrikes across southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley intensified on Tuesday, as Israeli forces pressed further into southern territory in operations marked by widespread destruction, the demolition of homes and infrastructure, and the forced displacement of residents from dozens of villages.

Israel said its strikes are aimed at what it describes as “military infrastructure and Hezbollah operatives.”

Meanwhile, Israeli authorities have continued issuing near-daily evacuation orders to residents across southern and eastern Lebanon, steadily expanding the list of affected villages. The number of evacuation warnings has now surpassed eighty.

Following an early morning alert targeting Sohmor in western Bekaa, Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee issued an urgent warning around 9:15 a.m., instructing residents of Arzoun, Tyre Debba, Al-Bazouriyeh, and Al-Hawsh to immediately leave their homes and move at least 1,000 meters away into open areas.

Shortly after the warning, the Israeli military carried out two airstrikes on Sohmor.

Wave of strikes across the south

In operations before noon, Israeli air raids struck several locations across southern Lebanon, including Ras al-Ain on the outskirts of Rashidiyeh in Tyre, a drone strike on Kafra, an airstrike near Batouliyeh, and another on the town of Debaal in the Tyre district.

Separately, a drone strike earlier in the week hit a Mercedes vehicle in the town square of Al-Dweir, killing three men from the southern town of Adshit. The victims were reportedly transporting an injured man from an earlier strike in their village to a hospital in Nabatieh when they were hit while passing through Al-Dweir. The dead were identified as Ali Yassin, Abbas Hayek, and Youssef Khreibani.

In another escalation, an Israeli drone carried out four consecutive strikes on the town of Jibsheet in the morning, followed by artillery shelling that also struck the area. Israeli warplanes later hit the vicinity of a mosque in the same town.

Ground demolitions and infrastructure strikes

Israeli forces also demolished several homes in the Ain al-Saghira neighborhood in the city of Bint Jbeil.

Overnight, Israeli troops advanced into the Hora–Ras al-Khala area near the endowment building in Deir Mimas. According to local reports, they rigged a solar-powered water pumping station supplying drinking water to the entire town with explosives before detonating it around 5 a.m., causing extensive damage.

The incident marked another strike on civilian infrastructure in the border region, where water and energy facilities have increasingly been targeted.

Wider escalation across multiple fronts

Elsewhere, two airstrikes were reported in the morning on the town of Srifa in the Tyre district, while Israeli artillery shelled several villages in the Nabatieh region.

Heavy drone activity was also reported over the Litani River basin, as well as at low altitude over the Rachaya area and the western slopes of Mount Hermon.

In a separate overnight strike, Israeli warplanes targeted a residential home in Kfardounine, killing six people and injuring seven others. All the wounded were transferred to hospitals in Tyre.

Israeli artillery also shelled the outskirts of the coastal villages of Mansouri and Majdal Zoun at dawn.

The latest wave of strikes underscores the expanding scope of military operations in southern Lebanon, where air raids, drone activity, artillery fire, and ground incursions have combined to place mounting pressure on border communities already grappling with mass displacement and collapsing infrastructure.
