Last week, Israeli aircraft bombed the Abu Al Duhur air base in Syria. The Israelis initially failed to admit responsibility for the attack, but to a number of observers it was very reminiscent of the attacks in April last year against the Hama and T4 air bases. The Internal Security Forces (ISF) announced on Monday that it had seized 1,772 kilograms of cocaine and arrested three men alleged to be behind a drug trafficking network on Dec. 22.
Here’s what we know:
• According to a statement released by the ISF, the agency’s officers arrested three people who were part of a drug trafficking network and found a large amount of cocaine in their possession. The arrest took place in the areas of Metn and Kesrouan, according to the statement.
• The ISF said two of the detainees were carrying out the sales using a car without a plate number and allegedly admitted that they had been selling drugs in several areas of Metn and Kesrouan.
