Archaeologists have discovered 220-million-year-old fossilized remains of nearly a dozen dinosaurs in San Juan province, western Argentina.

"There are almost ten different individuals, it's a mass of bones, there's practically no sediment. It's very impressive," Argentinian paleontologist of the University of San Juan, Ricardo Martinez, said.

"This discovery is doubly important because there are at least seven or eight individuals of dicynodonts, the ancestors of mammals, the size of an ox," he added, noting that they also found remains of archosaurs, reptiles that could be the ancestors of great crocodiles

The site is between one and two metres in diameter and about the same depth, which is believed to have been a drinking spot at drought times.
