Kataeb lawmaker Selim Sayegh on Friday stressed the importance of establishing a strict peg system, saying that dollarization must be officially recognized. 

“Back in 2019, the flexible system fell and the foreign currency reserves were depleted, and dollarization crossed the 80% threshold in the economy. The return to the free exchange rate that is not compatible with the high partial dollarization is disastrous,” Sayegh tweeted.
