Kataeb MP Salim Sayegh reflected on the profound impact of President-elect Bachir Gemayel’s sacrifice on his 42nd assassination anniversary, expressing how the tragic explosion not only elevated Gemayel "to the highest echelons of honor" but also transcended the political office and worldly acclaim.
"It was as if his sacrifice aimed to enshrine the three pillars of the Lebanese cause—freedom, dignity, and land—and to prove that true glory belongs to those who rise to Christ on the feast of His Cross," Sayegh wrote on X.
The lawmaker further elaborated on the nature of such heroic symbols, noting that they capture hearts, inspire dreams, and illuminate the path toward salvation during times of profound darkness and uncertainty. These symbols, he argued, embody the destiny of redemption when memories falter and despair sets in.
"In times of awareness and awakening, we thank Bachir and reassure him that his sacrifice has not been in vain!" Sayegh concluded.
