Sayegh Calls for an Investigation into Smuggled, Stolen Donated Medicines

Kataeb Lawmaker Selim Sayegh wondered about the theft and smuggling of donated medicines for cancer patients, calling for a swift investigation into the matter as it is a crime and flagrant violation of citizens’ rights.

Sayegh comments came after Head Barbara Nassar Association, Hani Nassar published a video, in which he shed the light on series of donated medicines theft and smuggling, confirming that there was an immunotherapy offered as a donation to the Ministry of Public Health.

He also clarified that the quantity was sufficient for two and a half months, as well as many insured patients could not get it.

Nassar explained the three ways in which cancer drugs are being smuggled whether through parties' deposits in the Ministry of Health, or through some mafias that deal with some of the well-known pharmacies that sell medicines guaranteed by the Ministry in exchange for a pack of U.S dollars or through agents or some doctors.
