Salloum Calls for Lifting Subsidies, Providing Citizens with Direct Support through Medicine Card

Pharmacists’ syndicate head Joe Salloum on Wednesday explained that every Lebanese patient would note what his illness is, and what medication he needs, assuming that there are 1,000 patients registered as needing medication, and their cost is $10,000.

“Aid will be provided, and half of the cost will be covered. The greater the value of the aid, the greater the cost that will be covered. All countries are ready to help us. Today, the medical sector cannot go on strike completely because we do not accept the humiliation of our patients," Salloum said in an interview with LBCI.

"Let us lift subsidies and secure direct support to the citizen through the medicine card,” he noted.
