Reserve Brigade Called Up as Israel Intensifies Southern Lebanon Operations

The Israeli army announced on Friday that it has called up another reserve brigade for operational duties on the northern front.

“Based on an assessment of the situation, it was decided to call up another reserve brigade for operational tasks on the northern front," the Israeli army stated. "This will allow the continuation of combat efforts against Hezbollah and the achievement of war objectives, including the return of northern residents safely to their homes."

As the conflict intensifies, Israel has expanded military operations along its border, engaging in battles on multiple fronts in southern Lebanon. The Israeli army has also released new footage showing the discovery of additional Hezbollah tunnels in frontline villages, many of which are equipped with a substantial arsenal of both defensive and offensive weapons.

According to the army, forces have destroyed a central underground Hezbollah command center and another tunnel path in one of the southern towns.

Avichay Adraee, the Israeli army spokesperson, confirmed in a post on the social media platform “X” that the 188th Brigade is continuing its "focused and targeted ground activity in southern Lebanon under the leadership of the 36th Division."

"During the operation, the forces destroyed dozens of weapons depots, several tunnel openings, and numerous Hezbollah infrastructure and combat assets," Adraee wrote.

He also noted that over the past few days, Israeli engineering forces discovered an underground tunnel pathway connecting two openings in the combat zone. Inside the tunnel, they found equipment for long-term stays, combat materials, and documents used by Hezbollah fighters. The tunnel entrances were subsequently sealed and taken out of service.
