Rahi Warns Against Tampering with People's Money and Banking System

Maronite Patriarch Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi stated the government and the Ministry of Education could not ignore students' loss of education in public schools.

"No matter how long the presidential vacuum lasts, elections must take place on the basis of the voting mechanism in the House of Representatives," Al-Rahi said during Sunday's sermon.

Commenting on the issue of banks and depositors’ money, he warned against tampering with the people’s money and the banking system, and about the danger of harming Lebanon’s external reputation, “so that it becomes a country far from the global financial system, and at that time there will be no benefit for any solution.”

Finally, the Patriarch expressed his condolences to the family of Sheikh Ahmed Al-Rifai and Dar Al Iftaa, stressing the importance of the country not being able to live under security chaos.
