The upcoming year presents a challenging situation in public schools and a highly concerning outlook in private schools, indicating potential demographic changes and a shift in education quality.
The educational researcher at the Center for Lebanese Studies, Nehme Nehme, indicated to Annahar newspaper, "According to the school tuition fee schedule published by schools on their websites, we will witness a kind of migration from private education to lower-cost or public education in the coming year, despite the latter's difficulties. This is because employees with limited income, specifically those in the third to fifth categories, as well as military personnel and security forces, including some officers, cannot afford private education expenses."
Nehme noted, "At least half of the employees in public and private sectors will resort to changing their lifestyle and spending on education. As a result, the number of students enrolled in private education will decrease by about 40% to 60%."
Through a calculated analysis, Nehme noted that the educational expenses for a single child in a private school equal the annual salary of an employee.
