President Aoun Tells Iranian Delegation Lebanon Has Had Enough of Others’ Wars

President Joseph Aoun emphasized Lebanon’s exhaustion from being drawn into external conflicts, stating that national unity remains the most effective response to any form of aggression or loss.

“Lebanon is tired of others’ wars, and the unity of the Lebanese people is the best way to confront any loss or aggression,” Aoun said during a meeting with an Iranian delegation led by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.

He also reaffirmed Lebanon’s longstanding commitment to the Palestinian cause, noting that the country has paid a heavy price in its support. Additionally, he endorsed the resolution adopted at the recent Riyadh Summit, which advocates for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The meeting, which took place at Baabda Palace, was attended by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Lebanese Foreign Minister Youssef Raji, and the Iranian Ambassador to Beirut, Mojtaba Amani.

For his part, Ghalibaf reiterated Iran’s position in support of Lebanon’s sovereignty, underscoring the importance of allowing Lebanon to make independent decisions without external interference.

“We support any decision Lebanon makes without foreign interference in its affairs,” he said, conveying Tehran’s readiness to collaborate with Arab and Islamic nations in the reconstruction of areas devastated by Israeli aggression.
