Northern Command Chief: Israel Must Be Ready for Ground Offensive in Lebanon

The Israeli Army's Northern Command Chief, Major General Ori Gordin, on Wednesday, emphasized the importance of strong military preparedness for a potential ground offensive against Hezbollah in Lebanon, stressing the need for further action to achieve all of Israel’s security goals.

“We have entered another phase of the campaign,” Gordin stated during a visit to a drill simulating such a ground operation.

He noted that the military's actions thus far have dealt a significant blow to Hezbollah’s capabilities, particularly its rocket arsenal.

“We need to change the security situation,” he said. “We need to be very strongly prepared to enter Lebanon in a ground maneuver.”
