Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday warned that a third Iranian attack on Israel would “simply cripple Iran’s economy" as his country will seek to inflict significant financial damage should Tehran continue its aggression, claiming that the October ballistic missile strike on Israel cost Tehran $2.3 billion.
“That sum could have added billions to your transportation budget. It could have added billions to your education budget," Netanyahu said in a video statement addressed to the Iranian people.
“Iranians’ lives would be transformed,” he said, stressing that if the regime invested in education, infrastructure, and health care instead of funding wars against Israel, the lives of ordinary Iranians would improve dramatically.
Netanyahu pointed out that the October missile attack “did marginal damage to Israel.” However, he questioned, “But what damage did [it] do to you?”
In his message, Netanyahu reassured the Iranian people that neither he nor the Israeli people sought war.
“I know that you don’t want this war,” he said. “I don’t want this war either. The people of Israel don’t want this war.”
“There is one force putting your family in grave danger: the tyrants of Tehran. That’s it.”
Looking at the broader picture, Netanyahu remarked that while the Iranian regime weakens, Israel only grows stronger.
“The world has seen but a fraction of our power,” he stated, pointing to the true source of fear for Iran’s leadership: the Iranian people themselves.
“There’s one thing Khamenei’s regime fears more than Israel. You know what it is? It’s you — the people of Iran,” Netanyahu declared. “That’s why they spend so much time and money trying to crush your hopes and curb your dreams.”
“Don’t lose hope. And know that Israel and others in the free world stand with you," he concluded.
