Nazar Najarian University Scholarships Granted for Three Outstanding Students

A ceremony was held at the Kataeb Headquartes in Saifi during a combined meeting of the Central Council and the Political Bureau to which Mrs. Joumana Nazar Najarian joined via Zoom application from Montreal, Canada.

Kataeb Leader Samy Gemayel began by welcoming Mrs. Joumana, pointing out that few weeks after the death of "Nazo", she requested to grant educational scholarships in his name with personal contribution from her to outstanding Kataeb students in their secondary studies.

Gemayel explained that the Party referred to Kataeb Students & Youth Department and it was found that three of the students excelled in the official exams and are getting ready to enter universities.

Kataeb Leader considered that this initiative reflects the personality of the late Secretary-General who would have been the first to welcome such move.

He wished Mrs. Najarian a long life with ongoing strength and courage which she demonstrated in the previous stage. Gemayel also highlighted Kataeb Party’s support for her and expressed the great appreciation that all comrades have to “Nazo” and his family.

For her part, Mrs Joumana Najarian addressed Peter, Clarissa and Ange - the students who won the scholarship - pointing out that "Nazo’s" dream was very big for Lebanon, and he focused a lot on youth and education. She recalled how the Former Secretary-General Left Canada and his small family and returned to Lebanon because he was fully confident that the future of our country lies within the youth.

“This scholarship is a small gesture and his little family - Magalie, Michel, Georges and I - wished to congratulate you on your success. We ask you to pray for Nazo and to always keep in mind three priorities which are god, country and family,” Mrs. Najarian stated.

Head of Media Department in Party’s Honor Council Comrade Pascale Tarazi also made a speech. She considered that the Former Secretary-General Nazar Najrian left a shrine in the Kataeb Headquarters so that everybody remembers him whenever they pass by Political Office hall where he fell.

Tarazi recalled Nazo’s teachings, sacrifices, and patriotic fingerprints. She indicated that his short life left a great impact on his comrades’ lives.

Tarazi welcomed Nazo’s wife Mrs Joumana Najarian thanking her for the benevolent initiative which will spread hope and optimism among students who will be given an opportunity to complete their education in light of the repercussions of the deteriorating economic situation.

At the end, Kataeb Leader handed over the scholarship to the three students:
-    Clarissa Dany Lteif for excelling in the official exams for the first year of secondary school - French for the year 2022-2021.
-    Ange Louka Louka for excelling in the official exams for the Excellence Certificate - Nursing for the year 2022.
-    Peter Bassam Gemayel for excelling in the official exams of Lebanese Baccalaureate in El-Matn - General Sciences with a very good grade in the regular session of the year 2022.
