Hezbollah Reneging on Surrendering Its Arms
Hezbollah and its allies – Speaker Nabih Berri, former Minister Najib Mikati, and Hezbollah ministers in the previous cabinet – all signed the ceasefire agreement with Israel that ended the war and that stipulated that arms in Lebanon must be exclusively in the hands of six government military and security agencies. When this happens, according to the deal, Israel withdraws from Lebanese territories. Now Hezbollah is reneging on its ceasefire promise, moving the goalposts, and reversing the order by saying that Israeli withdrawal comes first, then it might consider disarming.

Nadim Gemayel Pushes for Broad Election Alliance in Beirut During Meeting with Geagea
MP Nadim Gemayel met with Samir Geagea, the head of the Lebanese Forces Party, with discussions focusing on the upcoming municipal elections scheduled for May.
Gemayel described the meeting as productive, noting that the talks covered both national and regional issues, particularly the municipal and mayoral elections.
The MP emphasized the urgent need to hold these elections on time, stressing the importance of completing the democratic process and ensuring a proper rotation of power without any delays. He also highlighted the significance of forming a broad alliance in Beirut to achieve political balance and ensure better representation for all areas of the capital.
The meeting was attended by Kataeb Party Political Bureau member Jean Zaylaa, as well as Lebanese Forces MPs Ghassan Hasbani and Jihad Pakradouni, and Beirut Coordinator for the Lebanese Forces, Elie Sharbaji.
