Michelle Hajal, finalist in 2016’s Miss Lebanon, died on Monday after her battle with cancer.

The 25-year-old clinical dietitian underwent a chemotherapy treatment after she had been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma back in January 2018.

Later that year, Hajal’s condition deteriorated, and raised $750,000 to travel to the U.S for CAR-T cells therapy.

After two months of intensive curative treatment at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Hajal returned to Lebanon and announced that she was in complete remission.

However, her health condition deteriorated again a few days ago.

Hajal got engaged shortly before her diagnosis in 2018.
