Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati saluted today all workers on their holiday, saying: "All appreciation and devotion for all laborers on this glorious day, which embodies the highest meanings of struggle along the path of life and decent living."
He added, "A special greeting on this occasion I address to all workers in the public sector, and I say to them: We are aware of the difficult circumstances you are living in, and we appreciate the sacrifices you are making in order to preserve the entity of the State, its institutions, and its departments, and the measures taken by the government recently are nothing but a few of what you deserve, but the available capabilities that you are aware of necessitated that the contributions be in the best possible way, and we hope that, through our mutual cooperation and understanding, we can reach fairer, gradual solutions that guarantee you a decent life and give you a little of what you deserve..."
Mikati concluded by considering that production and work cycle is based on two pillars, "the State and the private sector," adding, "God willing, cooperation between the two sides will continue and its foundations will be consolidated for the good of all..."
