A 2019 report by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) estimated that Lebanon was the third largest source for ‘cannabis resin’ worldwide, only behind Morocco and Afghanistan. The UNODC estimated that roughly 6% of all the cannabis resin on earth originates in Lebanon.

Mikati Chairs Meetings Over Oil and Electricity
Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati chaired two meetings devoted to discussing affairs related to the sectors of oil and electricity at the Grand Serail on Wednesday.
The first meeting included Caretaker Minister of Energy, Walid Fayad, and the Lebanese Petroleum Administration. The second included Director General of Lebanon's Electricity (EDL) Kamal Hayek, alongside Minister Fayad.
Mikati later received United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Joanna Wronecka, who came on a farewell visit upon the end of her mission in Lebanon.
