Caretaker Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Bassam Mawlawi, on Wednesday affirmed the determination of the Lebanese people to rebuild Lebanon on the basis of law and sovereignty, as well as on the principles of equality and justice.

The Minister’s words came during a meeting with the Lebanese community in the Arab Republic of Egypt, at the residence of Lebanon's Ambassador to Cairo, Ali al-Halabi. 

Mawlawi relayed to the Lebanese community in Egypt the Egyptian officials’ continuous support for the Lebanese people, reaffirming "serious and continuous work to protect our Arab societies within the framework of strengthening common Arab security and taking measures to restore confidence with our Arab brothers and the world."

For his part, Ambassador Al-Halabi welcomed Minister Mawlawi, conveying the aspirations of the Lebanese community and their view towards Lebanon, coupled with their constant hope for improving conditions in their homeland.
