Tawile Deems Integrated Plan as Way out of Lebanon's Crisis

Head of the Kataeb’s Economic and Social Council Jean Tawile on Wednesday slammed the current ruling elite for its failure in addressing the economic and financial crises that the Lebanese people are experiencing namely the reconstruction of the financial system and the allocation of losses.

“The IMF is not comfortable negotiating with the current ruling system, it is a bank that does not impose conditions, its role is to question the plan for which the lender borrows money and the way he will pay it off ,” Tawile said in an interview with Voice of Lebanon radio station.

“The only way to rebuild a sustainable system and flourish the economy is by adopting an integrated plan and implementing monetary, fiscal, and structural reforms,” he noted.

Tawile also stressed that Ukraine-Russia war threatens the global economy; saying that the conflict will impact the Lebanese inflation as commodity prices will increase and the Lebanese are the ones who will pay the price amid their low purchasing power.
