Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri’s brother businessman Bahaa Hariri voiced hopes that the upcoming elections would bring in a new generation of leaders to Lebanon.
Hariri’s comments were made to The Associated Press whereby he considered “Hezbollah as a terrorist organization,” describing it as part of Lebanon's "failed past".
In addition, he has not stated whether he will run for office himself or whether he will only support candidates in the elections.
"The people are demanding a new generation of leaders who are completely separate from those who led us to where we are today over the last fifteen years," he said.
He also noted that he will not deal with Hezbollah, stressing that he sees in Hezbollah “the failed past and not Lebanon of the future,”
"Terrorist organizations destroy rather than build countries," he added.
"The people don't need more bullets; they need bread, jobs, and electricity, as well as a government that serves the people," he concluded.
