Kataeb party on Tuesday warned against the tampering with the upcoming May legislative elections, saying that the electoral process must be held under the supervision of the international community.

“The upcoming elections must be held on their constitutional date under the supervision of the international community so the Lebanese people could create a real political shift and a first shot at accountability,”read a statement issued by the Kataeb Political Bureau following its weekly meeting at the party’s headquarters in Saifi.

Kataeb party stressed that no reforms without sovereignty, saying that compromising on either of them could be an extension of the collapse.

“This feckless ruling elite keeps on robbing its people; its latest achievement was the missing money of PCR tests at Beirut Rafic Hariri Airport. Everyone is accusing each other, the fact is that those who were robbed are travelers of all nationalities who are forced to pay fresh dollars to do the PCR test through breached platforms that violate their privacy,” it noted.

The political bureau stressed the importance of holding accountable all those who were involved in this robbery without any political interference.

Kataeb party recalled the 17th assassination anniversary of Martyr Rafic Hariri, saying that it won’t turn back on the Lebanese cause for which Pierre Gemayel, Antoine Ghanem and all the Martyrs gave their lives.
