Maronite Patriarch Bechara al Rahi on Sunday stressed the necessity of holding the parliamentary and presidential elections on time, calling on voters to create a new reality.

“The parliamentary and presidential elections should be held on their constitutional date,” Al-Rahi said during Sunday sermon.

“I call on voters to "create a new reality," hoping that electoral projects will revolve around the demand for impartiality,” he noted.

The Patriarch also warned of the dangerous situation in the country, calling on those in authority to take bold and advanced positions.

He stressed that the challenges facing the country necessitate circumventing state institutions, especially the military institution.
