Lebanon’s Government Is Stalling and Calling It Strategy
Prime Minister Nawaf Salam’s meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio was presented as an attempt to move the tripartite framework from principles to implementation. Salam called for reciprocity, a clear timetable, credible verification, Israeli withdrawal, and exclusive state control over weapons. These demands are legitimate. Lebanon Urges UN to Seek End to Israeli Airspace Violations
Lebanon urged Friday the UN to act to end Israeli violations of Lebanese airspace, a day after Israel warplanes attacked targets in Syria from the country.
Israeli jets and missiles flew over Lebanon Thursday night to strike targets in the countrysides of Damascus and Homs.
The Syrian military said in a statement that "the Israeli enemy carried out an air aggression this evening with bursts of missiles from southeast Beirut". No casualties were immediately reported following the raids.
