The Cabinet formation process has apparently hit a standstill in the absence of a new meeting Tuesday between top leaders to iron out obstacles that are hindering the birth of a new government desperately needed to rescue the crises-hit country from all-out economic collapse.
More than two weeks after his designation as Lebanon’s new premier, Prime Minister-designate Najib Mikati’s efforts to form a new government have been stymied by a dispute over President Michel Aoun’s proposal for a rotation of four key ministries, as well as the distribution of other portfolios.
