Sayegh: International Consensus Is Adopted on How to Save Lebanon

Kataeb party’s Deputy-President Selim Sayegh on Thursday blamed the current ruling system for the situation the country has today reached, calling on the Lebanese people and political forces to think about a way out of the ongoing crisis.

“We have held this meeting with Maronite Patriarch Bechara al-Rahi to address ways that could help the country from the collapse it is today experiencing,” Sayegh said following his meeting with Al-Rahi in Bkirki.

“Our sole duty is to stand beside the Lebanese in their sufferings and to have a political plan that would help us overcome the crisis,” he added.

Sayegh hailed the role exerted by the Vatican, France, the European Union and all the other countries in saving Lebanon, affirming that there is an international consensus on how to help the country in facing its crises.

“Today, more than ever, we are very convinced that we should tackle the country’s problems according to Bkirki’s constants,” he said.
