Lebanon's Education Minister Announces Return to Blended Teaching Starting March 22

Caretaker Education Minister Tarek Majzoub on Friday announced the return to blended teaching as of March 22, starting with official diploma classes.

“The scholasticyear must not be wasted and the education should not be lost,” Majzoub said during a press conference.

“It is illogical to reopen the country's facilities and its various sectors without a safe opening of the educational sector and the provision of the elements for its immunization,” he added.

Majzboub announced a decision to implement a complete cessation of teaching for a week as a first step, saying that the educational sector faces two options, either to secure the elements for a safe return, or to stop teaching completely in public and vocational education in the public and private sectors.
