Gemayel Addressing Kataeb Students: We Are Carrying a Project for Lebanon's Future That Resembles Its Youths

Kataeb leader Samy Gemayel on Thursday deemed the Kataeb party as a continuous revolution and an uprising against self, affirming that it will always work to achieve its project to build Lebanon’s future in cooperation with all the change forces that meet with it in the conception of the country's sovereignty, freedom and pluralism.

“The Kataeb’s students department has been and will always remain the party’s pulse as the youth and students represent the future and they have the right to create the party that resemble them,” Gemayel said during a handover ceremony held virtually between former Head of the Kataeb's Students and Youth Department, Zakhia Achkar and the party’s new Head Ralph Mourad with the presence of the party’s leader Samy Gemayel.

"We are in a social democratic party that holds elections every four years for the Political Bureau, the party’s president and his lawmakers after extensive political debate,” he added.

“The party’s main interest today is defending the Lebanese’ rights in fighting corruption and demanding reforms the country urgently needs,” he pointed out.

Gemayel stressed that the Kataeb presents a new model in the political life by adopting a political approach based on honesty and telling the truth, saying that this has differentiate the party from the rest of the Lebanese factions that have adopted the approach of lying to people, concluding deals and settlements.

He also stressed the party’s call for Lebanon's neutrality from conflicts and axes policy, adopting decentralization, achieving full sovereignty and restoring the State, deeming it as the project that represents Lebanon that people wants and determined to achieve.

The Kataeb leader wished for everyone to take the virus issue very seriously after showing it poses a great threat on many lives.

The ceremony was also attended by the party’s General Secretary Serge Dagher, its lawmakers, head of formers departments and a group of comrades.
