Hankache Slams Government for Failure in Handling Waste Management Crisis

Kataeb MP Elias Hankache on Wednesday slammed the government’s way in handling the waste management file, deeming the garbage increase in the Jdeideh region as the crime of the century.

"They invent destructive solutions that would only lie in their best interest,” Hankache told Voice of Lebanon radio station.

Hankache wondered the reason behind the officials’ failure in reaching a solution that would address the garbage problem, holding the government full responsibility for the situation the country has reached today.

"We must exert our utmost efforts to restore the Metn coast, establish refineries and use technical experts to solve the garbage crisis,” he said.

“They took people as hostages and after dealing with this file for 30 years and spending millions of dollars on it, the "mafia" authority says that there is no final and sustainable solution to the waste crisis,” Hankache added.
