Following the Lebanese Army attempts on Wednesday to forcibly re-open Zouk Mosbeh, Jal el-Dib and Nahr el-Kalb protesting points in the seventh day of nationwide protests against the ruling class, demonstrators flocked to those locations in the face of oppression.

Hundreds of soldiers followed orders to open roads, pushed the protesters who had blocked the highways there.

The Army also forbade local TV stations such as LBCI, MTV and Al Jadeed to stop filming and pressured them to move away from the scene but their crews refused to budge.

“There are orders that you don’t film,” one soldier told a reporter, as The Daily Star indicated.

A number of injuries and arrests were reported among protesters.

Kataeb leader Samy Gemayel joined Jal el-Dib rally calling on protesters to sit on the ground and not abandon their locations, requesting that the Army backs off and stops assaulting peaceful protesters.

He also urged the Lebanese to head towards all the main assembly points to stand in the face of oppression.

As videos and news circulated media platforms, people rushed with large numbers to join protesters.

Similar incidents are taking place in Sidon.

A number of roads were blocked in Beirut, Nabatieh, Jal al-Dib and Jbeil, Dahr al-Baidar and other areas across Lebanon.
