Kataeb leader Samy Gemayel avowed unwavering commitment to coexistence in the Mountain, reiterating the solid Christian presence there.
“We come from the Mountain and its villages and we will stay here. We won’t abandon it, we will not be afraid of anything and we won’t allow anyone to frighten us,” Gemayel said as he laid the cornerstone of Saint Charbel complex, an initiative project launched by the party, in Hammana village, Metn.
“We believe in coexistence and partnership in the Mountain and in the 2000 Mountain Reconciliation,” he said.
“We believe that we can live in this village and in other ones too, unlike what has been said. Christians, Druze, Sunnis and Shiites will freely and safely reside here,” he declared.
The Kataeb leader noted that his visit aims at upholding the Christian presence and to encourage the youth to come and live in Hammana as well as in all of Mount Lebanon villages.
