Interior Minister Announces Dismantling of International Narcotics Network
Lebanon’s Interior Minister Ahmad al-Hajjar on Monday announced the dismantling of an international drug trafficking network spanning Lebanon, Turkey, Australia, and Jordan, following months of intensive surveillance. The operation led to the arrest of the network’s ringleader and several members, and the seizure of millions of Captagon pills destined for Saudi Arabia.

22 Arrested as Lebanese Army Prevents Fuel Ship from Leaving Territorial Waters
The Lebanese Army said on Saturday that it prevented the vessel Hawk III, carrying fuel oil intended for Electricité du Liban (EDL), from illegally leaving Lebanese territorial waters and detained 22 people on board. Three soldiers were injured during the operation, the army added.

Israeli Occupation and an Armed Hezbollah Are Not Sustainable for Lebanon

It is trying to balance the demands of the US to disarm Hezbollah, a militia and political party controlling much of the country, against those of Iran, Hezbollah’s main sponsor, to do no such thing. For a government that took power only recently after years of political vacuum, as well as for the country as a whole, this is a critical test of sovereignty.

Pompeo Hopes Germany Would Follow UK's Lead on Hezbollah
U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Friday hoped that Germany would follow in the United Kingdom’s footsteps in banning Hezbollah.
The UK labeled Hezbollah in its entirety as a “terrorist organization” on February 2019, saying that the decision was taken on the basis that it is no longer tenable to distinguish between the military and political wings of the group.
Pompeo made the statement during a state visit to Germany as part of a four-nation European tour.
