Gemayel Meets with Australian Prime Minister in Sydney

Former President Amine Gemayel met with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison on the sidelines of a dinner hosted by the Kataeb's chapter in Sydney, with talks featuring on the latest developments in Lebanon and the Middle East.

The two men conferred over the Syrian refugees crisis and its negative repercussions on Lebanon, also discussing bilateral ties binding Australia and Lebanon together.

In a speech delivered during the Kataeb dinner, Morrison praised the influential role that the Lebanese expats have long played in Australia, hailing Gemayel's continuous pursuit of openness and peace.

For his part, Gemayel thanked Australia for enabling the Lebanese expatriates to prove their success in all fields, and for helping them integrate easily into the Australian society.

The Kataeb dinner was attended by MP Othman Alamuddine who represented Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri, Lebanon's Ambassador Miled Raad, General Consul in Sydney Charbel Maacaron, as well as Australian officials and representatives of Lebanese political parties.
