Lebanon has informed the United States of its agreement to a proposed ceasefire aimed at halting the ongoing conflict with Israel, according to local broadcaster LBCI.
U.S. Special Envoy Amos Hochstein is expected to arrive in Beirut on Tuesday to review aspects of the proposal. Discussions will focus on clarifying specific terms to ensure they comply with Lebanon’s constitutional framework, the report said.
In preparation for Lebanon’s official response, Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri and Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati are set to meet on Monday. Sources described the atmosphere surrounding the talks as “positive,” signaling potential progress in finalizing the agreement.
