Lebanon Faces Imminent Power Crisis as Major Plant Ceases Operations

Lebanon is once again grappling with an energy crisis as the Deir Ammar power plant has ceased operations due to the depletion of fuel reserves, MTV channel reported on Wednesday.

According to sources, the plant, a crucial component of Lebanon’s power infrastructure, was forced to halt its activities, exacerbating the already dire electricity situation in the country.

The energy shortage is expected to worsen as the Zahrani power plant, currently operating with a single functional unit, is projected to stop within a few days.

The impending shutdown of the Zahrani plant will significantly diminish the country's power supply, leading to more severe blackouts and further straining the national grid.
