The Israeli military said Wednesday it had withdrawn a reconnaissance unit from the Golani Brigade from the area of Beaufort Castle in southern Lebanon after about 50 days of operations, even as Defense Minister Israel Katz said Israeli forces were preparing for a long-term presence in what he described as security zones in Lebanon, Syria and Gaza.

The value of any Hezbollah leader’s speech is falling faster than that of the Lebanese lira. There is no scale to measure the gap between Hassan Nasrallah’s addresses in 2006 and Naim Qassem’s latest lecture. This is complete bankruptcy. It is not about charisma or delivery but — like anything else in Lebanon — is a mirror of the country’s balance of power. Despite its arsenal of what should now be called illegal armaments, Hezbollah is depleted and deplorable. Qassem’s address had zero impact, with those once forced into silence now speaking the truth — not only from the opposition but also from within government.

In an announcement made on the "X" platform on Wednesday, the Lebanese army disclosed its success in thwarting multiple attempts of illegal infiltration and smuggling across the Lebanese-Syrian border.
Amidst the ongoing efforts to combat unlawful activities along the border regions, Lebanese army units have intercepted and prevented approximately 900 Syrians from infiltrating Lebanese territory throughout the current month.
