Lebanese Army Arrests Suspects in Rocket Attacks on Israel

The Lebanese Army announced Wednesday that it had arrested several individuals involved in two recent rocket attacks launched from southern Lebanon into northern Israel, identifying the suspects as both Lebanese and Palestinian nationals.

In a statement, the Army Command said the arrests followed coordinated intelligence efforts and investigations conducted by the Army Intelligence Directorate and the Military Police, in collaboration with the Internal Security Forces and General Security.

The attacks took place on March 22 and March 28, with rockets launched from two separate areas in the Nabatieh governorate — the first between the towns of Kfar Tibnit and Arnoun, and the second from the Qaaqaiyat al-Jisr area.

“Surveillance and monitoring operations enabled the military to identify the group responsible for both attacks,” the army said, adding that subsequent raids carried out in multiple locations led to several arrests and the confiscation of the vehicle and equipment used in the operations.

The seized materials have been handed over to the relevant authorities, and interrogations are underway under the supervision of the competent judiciary, the statement noted.

Efforts are ongoing to track down and detain additional individuals involved in the attacks, the Army command stressed.
