Kataeb Party: Raising a Finger in the Face of the Lebanese Increases Division

The Mini-Political Bureau of the Kataeb Party held a meeting chaired by Kataeb Leader Samy Gemayel, focused on the assassination of the Lebanese Forces coordinator in Jbeil, Pascal Sleiman. Following discussions, the bureau issued the following statement:

1-The Kataeb Political Bureau regrets the tragic outcome of the events and extends its condolences once again to the resilient and faithful family of Pascal Sleiman, as well as to his large family within the Lebanese Forces, which has lost a distinguished and beloved member who dedicated himself to serving his country.

The Kataeb Political Bureau reiterates its call for all concerned in political, security, and judicial authorities to reveal to the public the details of who instigated, planned, and executed the crime, what the real motives behind it were – especially as it was accompanied by suspicious information and clear media misinformation – in order to resolve all the ambiguity surrounding the case.

2- It is regretful and misleading what the Lebanese heard from Hezbollah's Secretary-General  in a speech of mockery and finger-pointing at a large segment of the Lebanese represented by the Lebanese resistance that resisted and defended Lebanon against armies and occupying organizations, unlike Nasrallah's adventures which drag Lebanon into wars unrelated to it in fulfillment of Iran's ambitions and interests in the region.

His speech, intentionally full of fallacies about the present and the past, reflects, beyond this unfortunate incident, his intolerance toward the positions of the Kataeb and everyone who stands against his project, which brought nothing but calamities, wars, and tragedies to Lebanon and its people

hese statements, especially at these times, deepen the rift among the Lebanese and solidify the general feeling that Hezbollah is more detached than ever from the Lebanese state and its partnership. So, let Nasrallah bear his responsibilities.
