Kataeb Party Highlights Importance of Opposition Unity in Preventing Militia's Control

The Kataeb Party’s Political Bureau held its weekly meeting chaired by Kataeb Leader MP Samy Gemayel. After the meeting, the following statement was issued:

1-The Kataeb Political Bureau warned of Hezbollah's plan to use the Palestinian camps in Lebanon as a battleground to extend its influence and hand it over to Iran as new bargaining chip in its negotiations on more than one axis in the region, affirming that Hezbollah facilitated the entry of militants to Ain el-Helweh camp and provided them with the equipment they need to implement the plan.

The Kataeb Political Bureau warned the authorities involved in this file from covering up any side that interferes with the Lebanese security.

It also wondered about the official statements that assert the absence of data on the presence of serious security events in the future at a time when Ain el-Helweh clashes surprised everyone revealing the confusion of the system and its inability to handle such a dangerous file.

2-The Kataeb Political Bureau urged the caretaker ministers to stop making impromptu statements that increase the crises and lead Lebanon each time to provide explanations and justifications that do not serve its position and status in the world, stressing that this ruling class does not have the minimum elements to continue speaking on behalf of Lebanon.

It also believed that the election of a new president is the only way to reproduce an authority capable of bearing responsibility.

3- The Kataeb Party said that Hezbollah and its team are keen on obstructing the election of a president, saying that it is not hiding its intention to impose its candidate on all Lebanese no matter the cost, pointing out that it has shown this in the past and will not hesitate to do it again, regardless of the expansion of the void and the collapse of institutions, economy, and money.

It also considered that Hezbollah only cares about achieving its interests, protecting its illegal weapons, and providing services to its regional sponsor.

The Kataeb Party deemed the presidential elections a crucial step in preventing Lebanon from falling under Hezbollah's grip for another six years, emphasizing that any new slip of this kind will entrench the militia as an absolute ruler for many years to come.

The Kataeb Political Bureau believed that the only way to prevent Lebanon from falling is through the solidarity of the parties that gathered to elect Jihad Azour as president, affirming that their unity and steadfastness are a strong barrier against any attempt to monopolize side negotiations or bilateral agreements.
